My Journey

Born in Bangalore - The Tech Capital

Started my life in India's Silicon Valley, where innovation is in the air. Growing up surrounded by technology probably sparked my interest in data and analytics without me even realizing it.

Age 16 - Off to Mangalore

Moved to Mangalore for high school and pre-university. This was my first experience living away from home, learning independence, and discovering coastal Karnataka's amazing food scene (those Mangalorean buns though!).

Back to Bangalore - University Years

Returned to Bangalore for my bachelor's degree. But here's where life got interesting - at just 18, I started supporting my dad's construction business. While other students were just studying, I was managing projects, handling teams, dealing with vendors, and learning what it really means to run a business.

What I learned from construction: Project management, team dynamics, budget handling, client relationships, and how to stay calm when everything seems to be going wrong (which happens a lot in construction!).

The Big Move - Hello Australia!

After years in construction and business, I realized I wanted to upskill, meet new people, explore different cultures, and honestly - live that abroad dream we all have. So I packed my bags and headed to Adelaide.

Australia has been an adventure. From figuring out public transport to understanding Aussie slang (still not sure what "yeah nah" really means), it's been a journey of constant learning and growth.

Master of Data Science - University of Adelaide

Now pursuing my Master's in Data Science, combining my business experience with cutting-edge analytics. The goal? To be someone who doesn't just crunch numbers, but tells stories with data and drives real business impact.

What Makes Me Different

Here's what I bring to the table that you won't find in everyone's portfolio:

Real Business Experience Before Academia

Most data scientists go straight from university to analytics roles. I've actually run a business. I know what keeps business owners up at night, what drives decisions, and how to translate technical insights into business value. When I analyze data, I'm not just looking at trends - I'm thinking about profit margins, operational efficiency, and stakeholder concerns.

The "Figure It Out" Mindset

Managing construction projects taught me to solve problems with whatever resources I have. Don't have the right tool? Find another way. Data missing? Let's get creative. Deadline impossible? Watch me. This scrappy, determined approach means I don't just say "that's not possible" - I find solutions.

Cultural Bridge Builder

Born in India, educated across multiple cities, now living in Australia - I understand diverse perspectives. This helps me work with global teams, understand different market contexts, and communicate insights to stakeholders from various backgrounds. Plus, I can explain cricket to Aussies and Aussie football to Indians!

Hands-On, End-to-End Thinker

From managing vendors to delivering projects, I understand the full lifecycle. In data terms, this means I don't just build a model - I think about data collection, cleaning, analysis, visualization, deployment, and how end-users will actually interact with it. I've been on both sides of the table.

Genuinely Curious & Always Learning

Whether it's a new certification, a challenging dataset, or just an interesting problem - I'm in. Currently pursuing Fabric and SAP Data Analyst certifications because standing still is boring. My LinkedIn conversations are full of discussions about data, trends, and "hey, have you tried this approach?"

Beyond Work - What I'm About

Work is great, but here's what makes life interesting:

In the Kitchen

I love cooking! My specialties are pizzas (yes, homemade dough and all), pasta with various sauces, and of course, authentic Indian food that reminds me of home. There's something therapeutic about cooking - it's like data science, but you can eat the results.

On the Road

Adelaide has amazing drives, and I'm always out exploring. Whether it's a coastal drive, heading to the hills, or just a long drive to clear my head - I love being behind the wheel. It's my moving meditation.

On the Field

Cricket: I'm a batsman - there's nothing quite like timing that perfect cover drive. Also play badminton to stay active and competitive. Sports taught me teamwork, strategy, and how to handle pressure.

Staying Connected

Being away from family is tough, but FaceTime and constant calls help bridge the distance. I miss my family and friends in India, especially during festivals like Ganesha Chaturthi - though I still celebrate it here in Adelaide!

Why This Matters

These interests aren't just hobbies - they shape how I work. Cooking teaches patience and process. Driving teaches focus and anticipation. Sports teach teamwork and resilience. Staying connected reminds me why clear communication matters. All of this makes me better at solving problems and working with diverse teams.
